Larissa Meecham APD – July 2012
Larissa Meecham is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Nutritionist. After graduating from QUT in 2010, she currently works as an industry dietitian in research and development. Her role is extremely varied and can range from menu development and nutrition analysis to cooking in the kitchen and nutrition marketing. She loves collaborating with her fellow dietitians and chefs to create healthy, nutritious & convenient meals.
Larissa also consults & presents to private girls schools on healthy eating and the effects of chronic dieting. She believes that good nutrition is a lifestyle habit- It should not involve obsessive dieting and she emphasises this in her presentations.
Larissa loves to pursue opportunities that will enable her to increase her dietetic knowledge and skills. Larissa has most recently added a private practice clinic to her workload and is very excited about this opportunity in helping clients with their chronic disease management.
Larissa has always been passionate about health and fitness and her mission is to share this passion with others. Becoming a dietitian was an obvious career choice as she has always had an interest in food, nutrition, sport and overall health, with these values being instilled from an early age.
Her weekends involve regular visits to gourmet delis and food markets and she uses her purchases to create yummy, nutritious food utilising recipe ideas from various nutrition blogs and gourmet food guides. She also loves using social media platforms and spends much of her spare time browsing instagram and pinterest for creative food ideas.
