Tiffany Williams – May 2012
Tiffany is a final year student dietitian completing a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics at Flinders University in her hometown of Adelaide. She spends her days browsing local markets, munching her way from café to café, enjoying the company of family and friends, selling organic goodies at her weekend job and fitting in a daily dose of exercise. And studying hard, of course!
It was by chance that Tiffany made a last minute decision to choose Nutrition as one of her subjects in high school; a fateful decision which sparked her hunger – excuse the pun – for all things food and nutrition.
Tiffany holds a very holistic view of health. She believes that a lifestyle which includes a balanced diet of healthy foods and regular exercise forms the basis of a healthy life, but acknowledges there are other factors which are also crucial to good health. She keeps her words of wisdom very simple – choose healthy foods more often than not, keep active by doing whatever exercise you genuinely enjoy, and indulge (occasionally!) in guilt-free treats and lazy days on the couch.
Yet to decide which area of the nutrition world she will pour her boundless energy into, Tiffany is currently exploring her interests in community nutrition and Indigenous health. Despite being a born and bred city girl, she is drawn to the country life and is looking forward to one day living and working in rural Australia. Her underlying passion is to support and empower people in our society who are less fortunate to improve their health through good nutrition.
Tiffany keeps active on social media channels (read Twitter and Instagram) and is very excited to be hanging out at the virtual Scoop on Nutrition office this month. Make sure you follow her and say hi on twitter @TiffWill_Tweets
