Downsize your crockery and save big-time – our must view video on portion control

When you hear portion distortion you probably think about the supersizing of our food supply.  Right?  But have you ever stopped and had a good look at the influence of the crockery and glassware in your home?  My latest guest post for GI News focuses on this area and the fascinating research by Dr Brian Wansink of Mindless Eating fame.  You can read the full post here.   I’ve been writing about Wansink’s studies in my magazine work for years now and am always fascinated by this behavioural side of what we eat.  But to really bring it to life I wanted to show you, as well as tell you.

So here goes with my second video post….a great way to educate you in less than three minutes, not 800 words.

If you want further insights into the Mindless Eating research and the man himself, my Australian dietitian colleague Tara Diversi had the enviable job of interviewing Brian Wansink recently for the Communication for Change project.

My Australian colleague Catherine Saxelby APD of Foodwatch has also written a fantastic book review of Mindless Eating by Dr Brian Wansink that you will want to check out too.

So that’s it.  I’ve met my goal of a short and sweet post…now I’m off for a long, tall glass of bubbly to celebrate.  Love to hear your thoughts below.
