Hip, hip hooray it’s our Scoop Nutrition 4th blog birthday – by Emma Stirling APD

Gosh. What a week. It’s times like this, when we celebrate and reflect, that I really see and feel the power of keeping on blogging. And especially the power of growing a blog community, that is YOU. Please indulge me a little in this anniversary issue, as we celebrate, give thanks and announce our new Scoop Sub intern program.

the scoop on nutrition - 4th blog birthday

Woot woot
It’s been another very successful year of blogging at the Scoop Nutrition press office. We were blown away to be named Jamie Oliver Food Revolution Blog of the Month in May and  be asked to speak at the Problogger conference in Brisbane.  And I get such a chuckle out of being quoted in mainstream media  now as a “blogger” rather than a Gen X “dietitian”.  How ACE epic is that? And bumping into lovely readers, supporters and social media community, like at our launch this week of Healthy BYTe (see below).

And  I seem to keep on flogging spreading the social media positivity far and wide and encourage other APDs to take up the keyboard, speaking at conferences for Dietitians New Zealand and Sports Dietitians Australia. And even though I certainly can’t take credit for it, the numbers are growing! Check out our A to Z listing of Australian Dietitian and Nutrition Bloggers and let us know in the comments if we’re missing you or your listing needs a tweak?

That’s a rare selfie of me on the Right and dietitian Heidi Sze from Apples Under My Bed on the left, who is one of the presenters at our blogging workshop at the 2014 Dietitians Association of Australia conference.
